- Travel guide to Barcelona -
Barcelona combines everything that is most charming – a relaxed pace, months of endless sunshine, unbeatable food – culture and design.
Just an hour and a half's flight from Paris, Barcelona is a vibrant, sun-drenched city of colorful buildings, contemporary art, rooftops and Gaudí architecture. Its patchwork of architectural styles displays dark, Gothic façades next to the harlequin buildings of the Modernistas and the skyline-piercing constructions of Jean Nouvel or Herzog. Sundowner on one of the city’s seven beaches before dinner at any number of Michelin-starred gastronomic temples or humble, family-run tapas bars.
Flax & Kale
With veggie cuisine pioneer Teresa Carles in the kitchen, Flax & Kale is Madrid's latest healthfood café, for refined organic cooking. Choose from acai, blackcurrant and banana salad, gluten-free bagels with avocado and spiraling tagliatelle with kale pesto and salmon.

Classic Cañete tapas bar in the heart of Barcelona’s vibrant Raval neighbourhood. Well known to be one of the finest eateries in town, we went to get a taste of traditional Spanish tapas with a touch of fine dining. With a menu of bread with tomato, Bellota ham and grilled prawns, Cañete offers real Barcelona tapas just two minutes from Liceu. Simple yet effective recipes are served in a charming setting with colorful mosaic floors and a long mahogany bar.

La Cupula Garraf
Great location and superb view! I love Garraf beach and the little town. If you go off season by train have in mind not all trains stop there. Find out train schedule beforehand. You don't want to be stuck at the train station for hours!!! During the summer train there is a train that stops there every hour. What I normally do everytime I am in Barcelona I go to Garraf at least once. I love going there and staying at the only hotel they have on a full moon night. It is located on the beach. Very simple place, but so worth it for the view! Ask for a room with a sea view. Then have dinner at El Chiringuito. Their food is ok, not super great, but it is a beautiful location. After dinner I love swimming in the sea with the full moon. Incredible experience!

A lively hub where ‘collective’ and ‘collaborative’ are the mots du jour, Casa Bonay delivers cool, classy, creative vibes with a quirky Catalonian edge, and boasts a passion for showcasing local independent talent. It’s a great alternative choice for those averse to the more hectic tourist-traps.
Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 700, 08010 Barcelona.
A recent newcomer to the ultra-luxurious boutiques, sitting on the restored foundations of an ancient fort! Extreme care has been taken to accentuate the character and history of the building, you can feast in a private dinning room, which has barely changed since its original use in guarding the city. The rooftop bar and pool is one of the most splendid across in the city and seems like when the sun is out, the most idyllic place to be on earth.

Europe's largest and most famous food markets. You will find foods of all varieties and nationalities under one roof. It is worth aiming to get to the Boqueria in the morning - preferably before 14:00, as this is when the market is really in full swing. I enjoy walking around the market before lunchtime.
